Abstract
User-friendly interfaces are becoming more and more important. A core challenge is usability for all. To meet this challenge, user interfaces should be designed adaptively. The goal of this research work is to conceptualize an adaptive dashboard in engineering change management that enhances the user experience of the application. For this purpose, the following research question was posed: What kind of adaptability enables a positive user experience when using a dashboard? To answer the research question, a qualitative study of the change management target group was conducted. Based on the findings, a concept was created, which was finally evaluated. The research showed that the dashboard configuration could be simplified for the user by using adaptive and adaptable measures. Through a role-based entry, users were able to quickly get a suggestion for their dashboard content that fit their task. This shows that an adaptive dashboard can lead to an increase in user experience.
